Surveys and feedback

Google Forms - the practical guide.

Google Forms is the free form and survey product bundled with Google Workspace. It's deliberately simple - questions, logic, file uploads, quizzes - with results landing straight in Google Sheets for analysis. For internal use and quick polls, it's almost always the right answer before reaching for a paid tool.

What Google Forms does

Google Forms is the free form and survey product bundled with Google Workspace. It's deliberately simple - questions, logic, file uploads, quizzes - with results landing straight in Google Sheets for analysis. For internal use and quick polls, it's almost always the right answer before reaching for a paid tool.

Who it's for

Anyone with a Google account who needs a quick form, internal poll, event signup or basic survey. Strong for schools, non-profits and any team already on Workspace. Less of a fit for customer-facing surveys where brand polish or conversion matter, or for serious research.

Pricing, in rough terms

Free with a personal Google account. Bundled with Google Workspace plans (from around USD 6 per user per month) for business use with admin controls and Drive storage.

When Google Forms is the right fit

Right when free, fast and good-enough beats polished and paid. Wrong fit when brand experience matters (Typeform) or when you need real research features and panels (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).

Watch-outs

Limited logic and styling - complex surveys outgrow it quickly. Anti-spam controls are basic; public forms can attract bot submissions. Personal-account use sits outside corporate admin and DLP - move to Workspace for anything sensitive.
